Ask Me to Marry You The Brides of Evergreen Book 2 edition by Heather Blanton Religion Spirituality eBooks

Heather Blanton is one of my favorite authors. Her characters are always real, raw and authentic. She is able to make you connect with the players in her books and love them, flaws and all.
In this novella, I was hooked just by the title! Audra needs a husband so she can run her ranch and earn the respect of her ranch hands. Dillon is offered the chance to marry her in name only to get out of jail time.
After tying the knot, Audra finds that she has not seen the last of her problems and danger still lurks around the corner.
I won't spoil the story for you, but I read the novella straight through in one sitting! I had pre-ordered it and read it the day it came out!
Trust me when I say that Heather Blanton is an author that will enhance your library and your faith! Waiting anxiously for her next book!

Ask Me to Marry You The Brides of Evergreen Book 2 edition by Heather Blanton Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

I love the twist in that this mail-order bride book is that it's a MALE-order bride. Clever and cute. A sweet, clean and wholesome story that kept this reader turning pages quickly to the end.

I purchased this book myself and enjoyed it.
I swear, I was born in the wrong era. I love going back in time in Heather's books. I am always sad when I finish and I wait impatiently for the next edition!
I work in the ugly, depressing word of TV news. If you've watched it lately, you understand. Her books are a welcomed break for my mind and soul.
Not only are the stories entertaining, intriguing and soul-wrenching...Heather shows how easy it is to share your faith with others. No fire-breathing, Hellfire and brimstone preaching.
Her characters just gently lay it on the table to do with as you will, when you're ready. I need to do that more in everyday life.
Thank you for being such a great example.
Bless.
Dillon is in jail and Audra needs,a husband to save her ranch. A deal is struck and they marry in name only. Faibanks wants Audra's ranch and Audra, too. Dillon is made the brunt of jokes, but admires how Audra rides and runs the ranch. Will Fairbanks stoop to murder to get what he desires? Will Audra look at Dillon as more than a one year deal? There is a lot of adventure, beautiful scenery and lots of wild west fighting. The story ends abruptly, but I loved the characters. Hope to see more about them in future books.
This was rather short, but I liked it. As with most, if not all, of Heather's books, it is set in the West. I am from the North; I am learning new things every time I read one of her books! They are not set in the 2000's, so some "thoughts" or "ideas" are not the same as what you and I have. I think you will like this book because it is not the same ol' western romance. After reading this book, please check out the other books Heather has written. My favorite is In Time For Christmas. I can't remember if this tells you about the blog Heather has called Ladies in Defiance. If it doesn't, look up Heather on facebook and you will find info there. Again, this was short, but sweet and fun. You will like it.
I completely loved this novella by Heather Blanton. Having a man as a mail order "bride", and the resulting teasing had me laughing throughout the story. Yes, there were serious parts where Audra at least thought she was teaching Dillon to be a rancher. But was she? Did Dillon ever teach Audra that HE was a man? Were both Audra and Dillon finally growing up to face the harsh realities of ranching in the 1800's? I loved seeing Sheriff Hernandez again; but was disappointed not to have more dealings with the town of Evergreen; but, there was so much action going on throughout the plot, I was able to let go of my wishes. Was Audra's father killed; and, if so, by whom? Do Audra and Dillon ever get an annulment or do they end up falling in love? Once I began reading this story, I wasn't able to stop reading. I definitely recommend this as a must read!
I started this novella this afternoon and even though I had other material that I had been working on, I couldn't stop reading until I finished it!
I had read Brides of Evergreen #1, but I raced through "Ask Me to Marry You" much more quickly than I had read the first book.
What would happen to Dillon? Would Audra be able to keep the Diamond D? And what about Jess? I couldn't wait to find the answers to these questions.
The characters were believable and the plot kept me intrigued.
Heather's books invariably keep me reading from cover to cover. I just wish there had been more pages between the covers
I also appreciate the fact that she is true to her beliefs in her books.

I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
The book was shorter than I expected especially considering the length of the first book by this author. It was better written than most novellas I have read, with a tighter plot than most, and I was enjoying the writing, characterizations, and story line well enough that I wished it was longer. In fact, that is part of my problem with the story-as with most novellas, the story was rushed and there was not enough time to build up the suspense or the romance.

One other problem I had was that it's supposed to be a Christian book, but while the main character has faith, the author takes pains to show that she keeps it to herself-and there is no point in the story where the male lead, who is not a Christian, ever comes to faith himself. Perhaps that could have been built up if the story had been longer.

I consider it a clean story, because while the male lead did visit a "soiled dove" , that was in keeping for the times for unsaved men in that day and age, and the author kept it very discrete (nothing actually happens). It was no worse than what one might see in an episode of Bonanza or Big Valley or in a John Wayne movie, and truly much cleaner than what was even in those examples.

The story was fun, but I wish it had been longer and that it had more Christian elements beyond just a mere mention of faith.
Heather Blanton is one of my favorite authors. Her characters are always real, raw and authentic. She is able to make you connect with the players in her books and love them, flaws and all.
